About The Position

Treeswift is seeking its first full-time Product Designer to join at a pivotal moment as the company scales its product for modern utility field operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to define how design influences the product and organization from the ground up. The designer will own end-to-end product design for both the web platform and hardware physical interfaces, focusing on how customers interact with complex geospatial, imagery, and LiDAR data. Key responsibilities include establishing design systems and product patterns for scalability, being hands-on in user research, workflow mapping, prototyping, and core product experience design, and partnering closely with product and engineering. The role also involves setting the tone for a future design organization by establishing craft standards, repeatable processes, and influencing product strategy in a new software and hardware category for utilities. This position is ideal for someone seeking significant ownership, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to build a design function from its early stages.

Requirements

5+ years of professional product design experience, including significant time shipping complex B2B, enterprise software.
A portfolio showcasing strong craft in interaction design, information design, and visual design, particularly for data-dense interfaces.
Comfort operating as a senior individual contributor and a leader simultaneously.
Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and excitement to work in an early-stage environment.
Fluency in designing and maintaining design systems in production.

Nice To Haves

Experience designing for geospatial, 3D, or map-heavy interfaces.
Prior work in utilities, energy, infrastructure, construction, logistics, or other sectors with a large field or industrial component.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end product design, contributing from discovery and workflow mapping through to polished designs, prototypes, implementation details, and post-launch iteration.
Design interfaces for complex, real-world operational decisions, making dense, multidimensional data understandable and actionable for field users.
Build scalable product and design systems, owning the design system, component library, interaction patterns, and visual language.
Partner deeply with product, engineering, forward deployed engineers, customer teams, and sales to translate customer needs into high-quality product experiences.
