Product Designer, AI Experiences

Dayforce
CA$87,800 - CA$137,200

About The Position

Dayforce is looking for a self-starting, highly motivated Product Designer to help define how intelligence is experienced across Dayforce. This role sits within the AI Experience team, shaping AI-powered workflows that help HR professionals, managers, and employees do the work they are meant to do with more clarity, confidence, and control. The AI Experience team translates advanced AI capabilities into usable, explainable, and responsible product experiences. We sit at the intersection of AI engineering, product strategy, design systems, and experience design, turning what is technically possible into what is humanly valuable. This is an intentionally flexible role for an accelerated and evolving AI roadmap. Depending on where the highest-priority work lands, you may support projects including agent orchestration, workflow automation, and broader agent platform initiatives. The right person will be energized by ambiguity, able to create structure quickly, and comfortable moving between discovery, systems design, prototyping, and delivery. This is not a role for someone who only wants to polish screens at the end of a process. You will work across discovery, systems thinking, interaction models, prototyping, validation, and delivery, while creating reusable patterns and guidance that enable other Dayforce design teams to design with AI, not just for AI. Key to success is close collaboration with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Design System partners, and teams across the Dayforce ecosystem. Product Designers are expected to be strong product partners who can navigate ambiguity, influence direction, and connect design decisions to customer value, trust, and business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience shipping successful enterprise SaaS products or complex workflow experiences; experience with AI, automation, developer tools, analytics, workflow builders, platform ecosystems, or internal tools is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and shaping early concepts before all technical or product requirements are fully defined.
  • Strong systems-thinking skills with the ability to connect individual user moments to broader product architecture, design systems, data flows, permissions, and long-term scalability.
  • Strong craft in interaction design and product thinking, with the ability to make complex, technical, or abstract capabilities feel approachable and useful.
  • Ability to flex across product surfaces and problem types, from exploratory concepts to platform foundations to production-ready workflows.
  • Of the following skills, expert in one, advanced in two, and proficient in two: Interaction Design, Systems Thinking, Information Architecture, Prototyping, UX Writing/Conversation Design, Visual Design, Conducting User Research, Research Insights and Analysis, and Front-end Development.
  • Understanding of how design work connects to business value, adoption, risk reduction, customer trust, and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience designing for multiple audiences, complicated workflows, and high-stakes decision-making; HCM, HR, payroll, workforce management, or compliance experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines, inclusive design practices, and responsible AI considerations such as transparency, bias, explainability, consent, escalation, and user control.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and collaboration skills, especially when aligning Design, Product, Engineering, Research, Legal, Compliance, and Leadership stakeholders.
  • Curiosity about AI and a willingness to experiment with new tools and methods while staying grounded in user needs, customer value, and ethical product judgment.
  • Proficiency in English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with English-speaking stakeholders, co-workers, managers and/or clients across the world. Further, our back office support teams, including but not limited to Human Resources, are primarily English speaking. Employees need to be able to communicate with these departments in English to appropriately administer their business relationship. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking co-workers, managers, stakeholders and/or clients, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI, automation, developer tools, analytics, workflow builders, platform ecosystems, or internal tools.
  • Experience with HCM, HR, payroll, workforce management, or compliance.
  • Experience designing AI-powered workflows, agentic experiences, or human + AI interaction models.
  • Experience creating reusable design patterns that enable other product teams to integrate AI capabilities.
  • Experience applying responsible AI principles, including transparency, explainability, user control, permissions, and human-in-the-loop practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design AI-powered product experiences across Dayforce, with a focus on enterprise-related workflows.
  • Shape interaction models for human + AI collaboration, including how users ask, review, refine, approve, automate, escalate, and recover from AI-assisted actions.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Engineers to frame ambiguous opportunities, define requirements, structure complex work, and make smart trade-offs across usability, feasibility, trust, and scale.
  • Conduct discovery, concept testing, and usability testing to understand user needs, mental models, risks, and adoption barriers, with support from UX Research.
  • Create prototypes and internal demos that make emerging AI capabilities tangible for leadership, Engineering, Product teams, and customer stakeholders.
  • Develop reusable design patterns and heuristics for agentic experiences, including routing, orchestration, evaluator/optimizer loops, automation, observability, and human-in-the-loop controls.
  • Translate technical platform capabilities into approachable user experiences, including how users configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and trust agent-driven workflows.
  • Design for trust, transparency, explainability, user control, permissions, privacy, and responsible AI practices in highly regulated workforce scenarios.
  • Contribute to the Dayforce Design System by defining how AI should look, speak, behave, recover, and scale consistently across product areas.
  • Facilitate AI design workshops, critiques, and working sessions that help product pods identify high-value AI opportunities and apply shared AI patterns.
  • Present work clearly to executives and cross-functional stakeholders, articulating design rationale, risks, open questions, and expected customer value.
  • Support recruiting processes, including candidate outreach, portfolio reviews, and interviews.
  • Help define foundational AI experience architecture for Dayforce, not just one feature area.
  • Design patterns that other product teams can reuse when integrating Assistants, Agents, and AI-powered workflows.
  • Balance innovation with responsible design, including transparency, control, observability, permissions, escalation, and trust.
  • Work in a dual mode, building core AI experiences while enabling other teams to apply AI guidance in their domains.
  • Help Dayforce evolve AI Workspace from a collaboration layer into a platform ecosystem of modular apps, agents, and extensible workflows.
  • Work within a fast-moving environment where priorities may shift as the AI roadmap matures.
