About The Position

Kettle is seeking an AI-native Product Design Lead to join a large client account operating at the intersection of enterprise technology and consumer products. The Lead will shepherd the product vision for AI-powered features and experiences, owning distinct workstreams within the broader account and partnering with designers and clients to address forward-looking design challenges. The role combines product thinking and brand storytelling, with an emphasis on designing functional AI experiences that are considered in both feeling and function. The Lead will design AI-powered product experiences with the rigor applied to complex interaction challenges, including attention to edge cases, failure states, trust signals, and unexpected or incomplete AI output. The role delivers visual design, UI, and UX artifacts such as high-fidelity prototypes, production-ready designs, annotations, and wireframes. It also involves collaboration across product management, engineering, and development; client-facing partnership; and adapting to different processes, from rapid iteration to long-horizon product thinking. The target compensation range is $150,000–$170,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including skill set, experience, and location.

Requirements

Product design experience in an agency or related environment, designing native iOS and Android applications and websites.
Demonstrated experience designing AI-enabled product features, surfaces, flows, or experiences where AI meaningfully affects the user experience.
Fluency with AI tools as part of design practice and workflows.
Experience leading workstreams, giving direction to others, and making decisions based on collective input and feedback.
Experience delivering user-focused solutions in high-complexity categories such as enterprise technology or consumer products.
Clear communication skills and the ability to present design work internally and to senior-level clients.
Experience working in agile product design and development models.
Comfort working with and activating against enterprise-scale design systems.

Responsibilities

Shepherd the product vision for AI-powered features and experiences.
Own distinct design workstreams within a larger client account, with guidance from a design director.
Design AI-powered experiences with attention to edge cases, failure states, trust signals, and unexpected or incomplete AI output.
Deliver visual design, UI, and UX work, including high-fidelity prototypes, production-ready designs, annotations, wireframes, and other artifacts.
Solve complex experience challenges while producing beautiful, usable interfaces.
Partner with designers and cross-functional teammates, including product management, engineering, and development.
Work directly with clients, building strong relationships and understanding their business needs and consumer experience goals.
Present design work internally and to senior-level clients.
Adapt to working styles and processes ranging from rapid iteration and optimization to long-horizon product thinking.
Proactively ideate with teammates and clients.
