About The Position

Aaru is a predictive intelligence company that uses AI agents to simulate human behavior and help organizations make strategic decisions. It is a small, mission-driven team that values ownership, trust, urgency, intellectual honesty, and meaningful impact. As a member of Aaru’s Product Design team, the Product Design Lead will help users make decisions faster by designing, building, and evolving user experiences across Aaru’s products. The role involves creating experiences for users across the technical spectrum and translating cutting-edge research into features used by executives and developers. The position is based in New York City and requires working in the office five days a week. Candidates should live in the New York City metropolitan area or be open to relocation.

Requirements

Have released products of your own or previously led product design.
Thrive in ambiguous and novel technical domains.
Value feedback more than conformity.
Be able to defend design choices and explain why they are right.
Use AI tools heavily without outsourcing your design taste to them.
Ship quickly and know when to slow down for polish.
Communicate clearly in writing and in person.
Be willing to push back and humble enough to change your mind.
Be located in the New York City metropolitan area or be open to relocation.
Work in person in the office five days a week.

Nice To Haves

Have built a design system for a platform or developer product.
Have shipped 0-to-1 product surfaces, rather than only iterating on existing products.
Have contributed to open-source projects or production codebases.

Responsibilities

Identify patterns across user needs and the product to multiply the impact of Aaru’s simulation software.
Ship quickly while advancing the platform design system.
Multiply engineering effectiveness by creating high-quality prototypes using agentic workflows.
Experiment with and advance AI-native design workflows.
Help hire designers who raise the bar.
