About The Position

Responsible for the entire accessory product development process from program start through production launch which includes sourcing, design, development, testing and manufacturing. Establish component and system targets and specifications. Interface with electrical systems engineering as well as being required to deliver feasible designs and vehicle interface connections. Develop state of the art electrical accessories in Lighting/optics, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS, Cameras), Vehicle Access/Entry and Start (Wireless keypad, Remote Start), Trailer Features, and many other product areas. Research internal Ford technologies and integrate these technologies into the development of new accessories. Design wire harness and/or accessory vehicle interface connections. Interface with EESE engineers for systems engineering, wiring, fusing and other specifications. Develop core engineering documents - FMA, FMEA, interface diagrams. Develop and execute design verification plans (DVPs) and engineering deliverables. Release parts using WERS and provide final engineering sign-off documentation. Interface with suppliers, planning, program management, vehicle programs, vehicle operations. Domestic Travel Required up to 10%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience designing and developing analog and digital electronic circuits, including power electronics, signal conditioning, wiring harnesses and module controls.
  • 1 year of experience utilizing oscilloscopes, power analyzers and software tools to perform electrical hardware validation and troubleshooting.
  • 1 year of experience developing Design Validation (DV), Production Validation (PV), and robustness testing including power distribution, load analysis, thermal cycling, vibration, and EMC/EMI compliance.
  • 1 year of experience performing and executing validation plans for electrical/electronic hardware including ECUs, PCBs, sensors, actuators, and power distribution components.
  • 1 year of experience utilizing MATLAB/Simulink and Python for modeling, system simulation, and electrical performance analysis.
  • 1 year of experience performing hardware-in-the-loop and bench-level validation for ECU integration and electrical system functionality.
  • 1 year of experience leveraging data analysis tools to analyze validation results, identify trends, and perform root cause analysis.
  • 1 year of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, software and suppliers to provide technical feedback, drive issue resolution, and support DVP&R creation and hardware validation.
