About The Position

At IPS, internships and co-ops play a key role in developing the next generation of engineers. Our program is designed to give students practical, hands-on experience in product development within a manufacturing environment. This rotation will focus on 3D modeling, reverse engineering, and standard documentation. During their time with IPS, students will own at least one end‑to‑end project while collaborating closely with experienced engineers who provide guidance, support, and professional mentorship. You can expect to gain the following:
How to operate within an engineering ecosystem.
Understanding how codes and compliance affect part design and engineering workflows.
Appreciation for the importance of data integrity.
Skills related to engineering fundamentals, including modeling, prototyping, and BOM management.
Understanding collaboration with cross functional team members.

Requirements

• Must be a student currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Intermediate or Advance level proficiency in Excel.
• CAD Experience: SolidWorks/CREO (preferred).
• Must be able to report to the IPS facility in Collierville, TN.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to adhere to project timelines.
• Excellent written or oral communication skills.
• High degree of interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• SolidWorks/CREO experience is preferred.
