About The Position

Position Title: IT Delivery Project Manager Location: Dallas, Ashburn, Boston, Chicago, Austin, or Atlanta Travel: up to 25% Your role On behalf of the IT Infrastructure Department, the Global IT Delivery takes care of the delivery of equipment and engineering work at location in a timely and cost-efficient manner. To achieve this objective Global IT Delivery defines and deploys an end-to-end process, starting with the annual planning of activities until the completion of the installation at location. To support this process, Global IT Delivery pre-selects vendors to do pre-defined installation activities with pre-selected equipment based on the global architecture standards defined by the Engineering departments.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and storage systems.
  • Proven experience with Project Management
  • Experience overseeing data center hardware deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure procurement processes including RFP preparation, vendor evaluation, and contract management.
  • Demonstrated vendor management experience including SLA monitoring, escalation handling, and managed services oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up the IT Delivery Process: Agrees with Design, Engineering & Construction (DE&C) the activities to be executed to support the infrastructure installation in new Data Centers.
  • Agrees with Engineer the activities to be executed to support life cycle management.
  • Agrees with IT Service Operations the activities to be executed to provide/install equipment at location.
  • Agrees with Finance the funding and cost allocations models.
  • Develops the playbooks for various IT-delivery and life cycle management activities.
  • Setting up the Annual Planning: Agrees with the annual plan for infrastructure installation with the DE&C.
  • Agrees with the annual plan for life cycle management with the system- and network engineering department.
  • Build an overall plan with activities to be executed at each location.
  • Optimizes the plan to reduce the amount of location visits.
  • Maintains the plan based on the latest changes and re-optimizes if needed.
  • Ordering and Installation activities: Processing orders on behalf of DE&C or the IT Infrastructure departments.
  • Align on any issues between requester and vendor (planning, availability of equipment, availability at location, etc.).
  • Oversee the quality of the execution of the activities ordered.
  • Handle invoicing and cost allocation.
  • Vendor selection and Procurement: Intake of requirements of IT Engineering and IT Service Operations department.
  • Selection of potential vendors to deliver the required product and/or service.
  • Facilitate a vendor comparison, product and/or service comparison together with the requesters.
  • Getting agreement on the final selection of a vendor, product and/or service and conditions.
