About The Position

The Electrical & Instrumentation Product Definition Engineering (PDE) team is responsible for the assembly and system integration of the latest Gas Turbine Accessory Electrical and Instrumentation CAD models into Gas Turbine projects. The primary goal of these projects is to improve the power output, running efficiency, and reliability of the existing Gas Turbine fleet. Gas Turbine Accessory Systems include Piping, Instrumentation, Structural, and Mechanical subsystems working in a One Team environment with expected Accountability to deliver Quality for our Customers. As a PDE team, we create and own electrical wiring and instrumentation housing models and assemblies for new and existing Gas Turbines and integrate them into the proposed CAD environment. We validate new hardware designs within the existing turbine and collaborate with other Engineering functions for final design updates and the timely execution of all hardware requiring CAD definition. The E&I PDE Team then provides final installation CAD and Bill of Materials (BOM) packages for customers installation packages. You will join the world-class Product Definition team to develop new technical solutions, processes, and automation software for the Digital Thread. Collaborating closely with design engineering and manufacturing, the role focuses on solving challenging enterprise problems and effectively communicating solutions. Specializing in Gas Turbine Accessory components and knowledge of how Electrical and Instrumentation subassemblies fit into the entire powerplant. The Product Definition Engineer will impact the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of their team, providing input into team priorities with moderate autonomy. The role offers significant opportunities for technical growth, being mentored by team leaders and using existing and authoring new standard work to ensure both operational and technical excellence. As a technical and process owner, this role will follow and champion strategies for continuous improvements and problem-solving, potentially owning L5 KPIs. They will utilize established technical training plans to address team gaps and align team priorities with overall business goals. Utilizing judgement to solve moderately complex tasks, this role will have a voice to add new perspectives on existing solutions, leveraging their technical experience and data analysis to support recommendations. The role requires application of Lean methodologies, emphasis on Standard Work, to contribute towards strategy and policy development.
