About The Position

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Product Controller to join their New York Rates Trading team within ISG Finance. This role involves overseeing daily P&L reporting, managing month-end close processes, supporting regulatory reporting, and contributing to strategic projects. The Finance division partners with global business units, providing management, review, analysis, and advisory services for the Firm's financial and capital resources. This Associate position is within the Product Controllers Job Family, which focuses on ensuring the adequacy of controls, P&L and balance sheet reporting, reconciliations for specific business segments or products, and management reporting across business segments or end-to-end product oversight. Requirements

  • At least 2 years' relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of Finance functional area, industry and competitive environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and adapt to various audiences
  • Willingness to seek guidance and provide feedback to further develop self and peers
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and colleagues across the organization
  • Ability to analyze data and think strategically
  • Strong skills in planning, organization, and prioritization, with the capability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication and in MS Office, with strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily P&L reporting and control requirements
  • Manage month-end general ledger close process and disclosure reporting
  • Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly management and regulatory reporting initiatives
  • Present financial data and partner with business unit stakeholders
  • Enhance processes related to financial and regulatory reporting
  • Support strategic projects and proactively identify emerging risks in individual and department work and contribute to strategies for mitigating them
  • Act as a role model and culture carrier; Embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards
  • Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
  • Responsible for and lead a significant set of deliverables, leveraging advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment
  • Adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; proactively identify ways to reduce risk in work
