About The Position

CLARK Material Handling Company, a global leader in the material handling and forklift industry with 100 years of history, is seeking qualified candidates. The Product Configurator will be responsible for all configuration-related tasks in building and maintaining product configurator models within the company's Baan ERP and Salesforce order systems. This role requires extensive knowledge of technical principles, theories, and concepts in configuration management to organize and support the CLARK BaaN/Salesforce Configuration System.

Requirements

  • Previous configuration experience with an ERP system (Preferably BaaN and Salesforce, not required but highly desirable).
  • Strong understanding of Items, BOM’s (Engineering boms, Production boms, Customized boms, Planning boms, Generic boms), Model Structure, Rules.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Production or Industrial Engineering (or related field equivalent).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with configuration management.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, project planning, presentation flow charts, and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to update and maintain Baan software.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent systems skills/adaptability.
  • Proven attention to detail and organization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Efficient time management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA indefinitely without any sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Crystal Report writing (not required but highly desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of ERP Configuration Management standards, processes, rules, and generic price lists in Baan and Salesforce.
  • Lead root cause analysis of production configuration issues and develop plans to resolve them.
  • Design configuration processes for ESQ’s to ensure trucks are built to correct specifications and pricing, potentially working with engineering to understand ESQ options/features.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to production on Custom Bill of Materials and allocations created by the configuration process.
  • Work with Product Specialists on price page changes to update in Salesforce and Baan.
  • Set up new models/options in Salesforce and resolve dealer issues in submitting quotes.
  • Analyze, process, and track Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to maintain Baan configuration rules.
  • Review ECR/ECO for potential configuration/BOM issues and work with engineering to resolve them.
  • Learn and back up the ECO Coordinator to finalize ECO’s.
  • Drive process improvement in a data-driven environment, analyze systematic issues, and implement solutions to challenging problems.
  • Provide technical recommendations for a wide variety of problems related to configuration and change management.
  • Coordinate product changes within the engineering and manufacturing environment with the ECO coordinator.
  • Maintain the logic and rules that govern the Configurator to ensure only technically viable product combinations are available and sales order pricing is accurate.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of all areas of the Configurator, including information stored in product lines and the mechanism of the Configurator itself.
  • Maintain a synchronized, collaborative workflow through positive, courteous team interactions with cross-functional teams, keeping all parties informed of issues, changes, challenges, and delays.
  • Work closely with product development and marketing teams to launch new products and translate their needs into the Configurator rules base.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
