About The Position

BinMaster Sensors & Technologies is seeking a Product Compliance Engineer for their Innovation Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska. This on-site, full-time role reports to the Director of Engineering, BinMaster Sensors & Technologies. The Product Compliance Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of product certification and compliance, including researching applicable electrical and hazardous location standards during the design process, and supporting audits and certification projects. This role is critical to the engineering process and has substantial influence. Requirements

  • Experience or extreme interest in interpreting standards by UL, CSA, FM, NEC, IEC and ATEX.
  • BSEE or MSEE or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Importance and pride in being extremely organized.
  • Manage concurrent projects while maintaining a high level of productivity to complete projects on time.
  • ISO 9001 &/or continuous improvement experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, understand instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must have the ability to effectively plan and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and interpret regulatory codes such as issued by UL, CSA, FM, NEC, IEC and ATEX.
  • Understand Hazardous Locations concepts, protection methods and regulatory standards.
  • Drive product compliance for new and existing products through evaluation and testing with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance departments.
  • Organize and maintain compliance records by product types from internal testing and reports, NRTLs and other third parties.
  • Organize compliance program by preparing cost estimates, timetables, resource requirements including test laboratories and equipment.
  • Assist in management, supply chain, and vendor compliance program related to ROHS, REACH, IMDS, and various Substances of Concern regulations.
  • Maintain standards lists by tracking and understanding pending changes to standards and regulatory directives.
  • Maintenance of controlled documents related to ISO.
  • Offer suggestions to streamline our controlled ISO documents.
  • Include ISO principles when auditing with our Quality Manager or Consultants.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
