About The Position

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking a Product Compliance Engineer for the Americas region to manage hardware certification in the US, Canada, and Chile. This role is designed as 'Hybrid' with an expectation of working an average of two days per week from an HPE office. The ideal candidate will have an engineering background and strong English communication skills. Responsibilities include collaborating with HPE business units, sales, trade associations, labs, regulators, and certification bodies; supporting compliance initiatives; handling purchase orders and budgets; and overseeing product safety, telecom, and security testing and certification. Experience in environmental laws (e.g., WEEE, Take Back, Circular Economy, Right to Repair) is highly desirable. This role provides support and/or leads teams through the Engineering development process and implementation of company’s products. Projects are typically shorter-term, less complex and more contained with a defined time frame. Programs are typically longer-term, multi-functional, multi-project with complex requirements and effort. The role involves managing activities, resource capability, schedules, budgets, and ensuring cross-company communications to facilitate product completion on schedule within budget. It also includes working with engineering management to identify and improve process and program efficiencies, and potentially working with external parties such as standards bodies and partners. Contributions regularly impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services. The role applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. It provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives, exercising significant independent judgment to determine the best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
  • Typically 8+ years experience.
  • Extensive experience with using project and program planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track project results.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
  • Strong English communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP/PMI certification preferred.
  • Experience in environmental laws (e.g., WEEE, Take Back, Circular Economy, Right to Repair) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and leads a program involving multiple functions and project teams to drive the engineering development and implementation process for a product or service offering.
  • Develops and directs development of schedules, critical deliverables, budget, resource allocation plan, and other support requirements for assigned program.
  • Manages activities of supporting project teams and internal development partners; ensures progress against established plan and makes determinations based on analysis of business information to alter or update schedule and resource allocation to meet product requirements and development schedule.
  • Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with management and internal manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to product, processes, or business practices to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and established product roadmaps and schedules.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into projects and activities in the manufacturing and/or engineering organization.
  • Leads and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
  • Collaborates with HPE business units, sales, trade associations, labs, regulators, and certification bodies.
  • Supports compliance initiatives.
  • Handles purchase orders and budgets.
  • Oversees product safety, telecom, and security testing and certification.
