Product Builder

Indeed Flex•Austin, TX
•$115,000 - $144,000•Hybrid

About The Position

The Product Builder on the Supply Service Group owns assigned worker-side systems that keep Flexers informed, supported, and working. This role lives in Braze integrations and related supply-side messaging systems (including Sense where relevant): you identify and prioritize what to build, design the experience, and write the code. The work spans two connected surfaces: the lifecycle messaging that keeps Flexers engaged, and the worker-app transactional communications they rely on every day — AI calls, push, in-app, SMS, and email that confirm a shift, flag a change or cancellation, chase a missing document, or confirm attendance. Some of it is triggered in Braze, some in the product itself. All of it has to be accurate, on time, and trusted. You will own assigned Braze integration work with guidance from senior product leadership, turn Operations and CRM needs into working software, ship it yourself, and grow ownership over time. You will also own the worker-app transactional communications that get Flexers to their shift — and keep them coming back to book the next one.

Requirements

  • Experience building and shipping software, such as an app, integration, internal tool, or side project (including student work). Product, CRM, or operations experience is useful.
  • Evidence you have built, configured, or shipped something real — a CRM journey, automation, integration, internal tool, or side project.
  • You use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar) to go from idea to prototype to production code yourself, and can walk through how you used those tools to design, build, debug, and ship.
  • Ability to implement against APIs, events, and CRM platforms.
  • Strong written communication and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Bias for learning fast and finishing what you start.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate effectively with relevant internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of technical acumen and proficiency to learn and utilize new software and technologies quickly to continuously evolve and improve our tech-driven advantage.
  • High level of analytical and critical thinking skills with a strong drive to investigate, analyze, and resolve simple and complex problems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and meet conflicting deadlines with minimal direct supervision.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace software suite.
  • Highly proficient in utilising several tools to enable real-time collaboration with a globally distributed workforce such as Miro, Monday, Salesforce, Google Meet, Zoom, Slack, etc.
  • A commitment to driving the Indeed Flex mission: to help people get jobs, instantly.

Nice To Haves

  • A computer science background — a CS degree, or an equivalent self-taught foundation — with comfort reasoning about code, data, and systems every day.
  • Hands-on experience with Braze, Sense, Customer.io, Iterable, Twilio, or similar messaging platforms.
  • Exposure to marketplaces, staffing, HR tech, or high-volume service operations.
  • Customer support or service background, especially time spent close to workers or consumers where late, unclear, or missing communications affect the front line.
  • A short demo or write-up of something you built: the problem, what you built, and what changed.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day Braze integration work: frame the problem, design the flow, ship the change, and follow up after launch.
  • Own worker-app transactional communications Flexers depend on to work — shift confirmations, changes and cancellations, reminders, document chases, and pay notifications — getting triggers, timing, content, and failure modes right.
  • Build fluency in worker messaging, service workflows, and how Braze fits the Flexer experience.
  • Ship end-to-end with Engineering, CRM, and Operations; the deliverable is production code.
  • Use AI tools to go from idea to production quickly: prototype the flow, then implement and ship it.
  • Conduct in-depth discovery: shadow Operations and CRM, pull data, form hypotheses, and suggest small, high-leverage improvements.
  • Contribute improvement ideas to the Braze and messaging roadmap based on discovery, rollout learnings, and Ops/CRM feedback.
  • Connect work to outcomes by understanding how messaging reliability and engagement affect Flexer experience and supply performance metrics.
  • Protect quality after launch: monitor rollouts, triage issues, and help the team meet quality expectations, including privacy/security, resilience, and any compliance constraints for worker messaging.
  • Collaborate cleanly: communicate clearly, take feedback well, escalate trade-offs early, and help the pod win.
