About The Position

Looking for an internship where you'll contribute to meaningful work instead of just observing from the sidelines? At The Cigna Group, our Summer Internship Program is designed to give you hands-on experience solving real business challenges that help improve the health and well-being of millions of people across the globe. As a Product Analytics Intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals, gain exposure to healthcare analytics, and contribute to projects that influence business decisions. In addition to your project work, you'll participate in professional development opportunities including leadership speaker sessions, networking events, community activities, and collaboration with interns across the organization.

Requirements

  • Rising senior working towards a bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency with SQL and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to think analytically
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong business aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-starter who is eager to learn and acquire new skills
  • Eligible for employment in the United States and would not require visa support including H-1B, CPT/OPT/STEM, etc., now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred majors include Biomedical Informatics, Health Information, Business, Analytics, Public Health or related field
  • Prior database skills are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Gain valuable knowledge on top health industry trends and integrated data analytics
  • Conduct research and present findings
  • Perform data preparation, analysis and reporting
  • Lead 2-3 key projects
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support product analytics team
  • Analyze health services utilization trends among population with specific conditions
  • Develop a dashboard that provides strategic insights for internal stakeholders
  • Research an emerging hot topic to support ideation and brainstorming
  • Analyze drivers of medical spend using statistical techniques and recommend actions we could take to mitigate cost increases
