About The Position

Cogeco's YourTV is seeking a dynamic Producer to lead end-to-end local programming in Peterborough and Lindsay. This role involves managing the complete production cycle, from pre-production to post-production, with a focus on community engagement and OHL sports coverage. The Producer will also serve as a brand ambassador, reporting and anchoring local programs, and recruiting, coaching, and leading a diverse crew of community partners and volunteers.

Requirements

  • College Diploma or Degree in television production or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years in audio/video production; community television experience preferred.
  • Advanced skills in camera technique, studio lighting, audio, graphics, and editing.
  • Strong video storytelling skills with reporting and anchoring experience.
  • Strong coaching and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse groups of volunteers and students.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, meet conflicting deadlines, and resolve problems independently.
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence.
  • Physical ability to lift 20 kg and work at heights up to 5 metres.

Responsibilities

  • Leads all phases of production including Pre-Production (scripting, set/lighting design, talent booking), Production (directing studio, ENG, and mobile shoots), and Post-Production (editing, promo creation, and asset archiving).
  • Leads the coordination and production of local sports programming, with a strong emphasis on OHL game coverage, live mobile broadcasts, and sports highlights.
  • Recruits, orients, and coaches volunteer crews, co-op students, and interns. Identifies training opportunities to expand the technical and on air skills of community members while maintaining a positive and growth-oriented learning environment.
  • Serves as the primary contact for community stakeholders and partners. Manages the local "YourTV" website and social media presence, engaging with the community to promote programming, events, and brand loyalty.
  • Operates as a “competent person” regarding health and safety legislation. Conducts regular safety/circle checks on assigned vehicles, arranges maintenance, and ensures all equipment and production environments meet industry safety standards.
  • Ensures consistent application of company branding and logos. Maintains accurate departmental records, statistics, and traffic database entries (e.g., Broadview) to support operational planning and reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
