About The Position

The Academic Media Center (AMC) is seeking creative student leaders to develop and execute shows for the university’s award-winning, student-run TV station, RMU-TV. Student Producers are key team leaders for each show, working with an Associate Producer and crew, staff, and industry mentors to deliver programs to audiences on and off campus. Producers ensure projects are completed on time and in budget.

Requirements

All majors are welcome.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of people.
Ability to problem-solve.
Ability to work within deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Prior participation as an Associate Producer on an RMU TV show is strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

Tend to the day-to-day operation of their respective shows.
Aggregate and write content for the shows.
Build the show rundown and time the show during broadcast.
Arrange interviews and secure necessary outside equipment.
Manage all crew positions (paid and volunteer) and assign rotating volunteer positions.
Ensure all crew members' responsibilities have been fulfilled.
Deliver shows across distribution platforms (Comcast, streaming, and highlights to Sentry Media).
Provide timely show notes to the General Manager and AMC Director.
Propose and submit shows to the AMC Director for award consideration.
Uphold RMU and department policies as outlined in the AMC Student Media Handbook.
Work at least five hours on designated non-show AMC projects or outside productions per semester (for paid personnel).
Attend at least one AMC skills development workshop.
Participate in required monthly staff meetings.
Cover hours agreed to work (for student colleagues).
