About The Position
The Story with Martha MacCallum is seeking a skilled, experienced and eager Producer to join the team. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, a superb writer & excellent under pressure. As a Producer on The Story, you will be responsible for executing segment leads, writing live scripts during breaking news and conducting in-depth research. The Producer will serve as a backup to the Line Producer and Senior Producer, on occasion.
Requirements
- Professional experience in a live television control room
- Strong and accurate writing
- Line producing training
- Thorough knowledge of current events and politics
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Pitch guests, stories, and segment ideas
- Write guest intros, anchor questions, and teases
- Select elements such as sound, video clips, and graphics to tell a story
- Build accurate and constantly evolving research packets
