About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the overall operation of the produce department, including budgeting, financial results, product ordering, human resources, training, and inventory control. The Produce Team Lead oversees department clerks, monitors product merchandising, rotation, and inventory levels to maximize sales opportunities, and ensures associates provide excellent customer service. They are also responsible for executing merchandising programs according to company guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service.
  • Ensure proper handling and merchandising of all produce products according to company policy.
  • Display complete knowledge of all produce products to customers.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation according to 5S standards.
  • Achieve all budgeted financial figures for the Produce Department.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Produce Department.
  • Oversee product merchandising, including arrangements, displays, rotation, and inventory controls.
  • Order all merchandise and supplies for the Produce Department.
  • Control inventory levels to company standards.
  • Manage the produce department to work within company efficiency standards.
  • Assume all responsibilities of the Produce Department as per company guidelines.
  • Forecast and achieve Produce Department developmental needs for future staffing growth.
  • Manage the store at the discretion of the Store Manager.
  • Ensure accurate fulfillment of all customer orders and deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate and state sanitation and safety procedures and regulations.
  • Train all new associates in produce operations.
  • Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
