About The Position

This role reports to the Food Manager and is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Produce Team Members to ensure operational efficiencies and processes are followed to align with the strategy, objectives, and vision of the respective department. The Produce Manager will collaborate with the Food Store Manager to determine current and future capabilities required for effective execution of merchandising, marketing, image/fixed assets, talent development, and driving sales. Key responsibilities include recruitment, performance management, team member relations, health and safety, marketing, merchandising, fixed asset management, and administrative duties. The position requires occasional travel (1-3 times per year) for seminars, conferences, competition checks, or to assist in alternate locations, which may change based on operational needs.

  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Honest and trustworthy.
  • Results-oriented.
  • Commitment to ongoing development in the industry.

  • Preference for post-secondary education (business diploma or degree).
  • Preference for produce experience.

Responsibilities

  • Traveling out of town and out of province for industry events or to assist other locations as needed.
