About The Position

The Produce Manager is responsible for managing the produce department, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining department standards. This role involves leading a team, managing inventory, merchandising products, and ensuring a clean and sanitary work environment. The Produce Manager will also train and develop staff, create work schedules, and contribute to the overall success of the department and store.

Requirements

Experience working in a produce position (2-3 years preferred).
Knowledge of preparing pre-cut fruit.
Knowledge of following crisping programs for greens.
Knowledge of displaying product.
Ability to lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
Ability to push/pull with up to 30 force pounds.
Ability to operate equipment (scanner, register, check approval machine, coupon machine).
Ability to reach, stand, turn, and walk.
Ability to use mental judgment/decision making.
Ability to engage in social skills/verbal interaction.
Ability to memorize, read, and write.
Ability to perform math.
Willingness to work with cold temperatures and wet surfaces.

Responsibilities

Fill and rotate cases and displays, maintaining appropriate shrink levels.
Assist with receiving products and merchandising to keep shelves full and product fresh.
Prioritize and establish work lists to maintain a steady amount of work for employees.
Ensure all Produce employees are following store standards and know COOL (Country of Origin Labeling).
Create and manage weekly work schedules for the entire team.
Train and develop future Produce Managers.
Help maintain a clean and sanitary store.
Work with the team on all tasks necessary to have an awesome department.
