About The Position

As a Produce Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be responsible for handling, preparing, and merchandising farm-fresh produce to ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of product knowledge and preparation techniques. You will be expected to stock the Produce department, including product presentation, facing, filling, and organizing items according to schematics, and ensuring accurate tagging and pricing. The Produce Clerk is also responsible for proper stocking and rotation of merchandise, including trimming, watering, and merchandising products to maintain freshness and quality. Additionally, you will manage inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability, and assist customers with inquiries in a friendly and helpful manner. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire workday.
Ability to lift, stack, and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up to 3 feet for between 10-50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs., requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8-hour shift.
Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.

Nice To Haves

Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from using a knife (other than safety cutters), using a ladder, operating a garbage or cardboard compactor, or operating any motor/electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), and working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods of time.

Responsibilities

Stock the Produce department, including presentation, facing, filling, and organization of all product items as set by the Produce Department schematics.
Ensure tag and pricing accuracy.
Properly stock and rotate merchandise in the Produce Department.
Trim, water, and merchandise products to ensure fresh, high-quality offerings.
Ensure proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability.
Answer customer questions in a friendly and helpful manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
