About The Position

Cleans, trims, packages, processes, rotates and stocks produce. Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment. This role requires working a schedule informed by business needs, which may change seasonally or due to staffing needs, and demands reliable and predictable attendance. The position involves adapting to changing priorities and conditions within the department and store, demonstrating a solutions-oriented approach to problems, and representing company values. A commitment to diversity and inclusion is expected, fostering a respectful workplace. Requirements

  • Must complete and maintain any required food and work safety trainings/certifications.

  • Previous customer service, food service, retail or grocery experience preferred.
  • Previous produce experience in a retail, farm, or grocery environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares Produce department for store opening and closing.
  • Assists customers with product selection, shares product knowledge, and makes recommendations based on customer needs.
  • Cleans, trims, packages, prices, rotates, and stocks produce department products.
  • Builds displays and arranges department products for attractive presentations, highlighting featured, unique, and seasonal items.
  • Stocks, rotates, and faces products with attention to quality and expiration dates.
  • Handles damaged and spoiled product according to company policy.
  • Receives and unloads merchandise, checking quality, count, and condition.
  • Communicates any issues to management and the merchandising team.
  • Completes customer special orders thoroughly and provides follow-through.
  • Maintains cleanliness, organization, and rotation of all areas, products, and supplies.
  • Maintains accurate pricing and signage that meet merchandising standards.
  • Complies with all company organic standards.
  • Understands and complies with specific shift guidelines, tasks, and responsibilities.
  • Maintains awareness of current ads, promotions, holidays, and events.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with products in the department, including labeling, recommended uses, and vendor/supplier information, with a willingness to continue learning.
  • Notifies department manager or Manager On Duty of any situations relating to customer service, safety, productivity, security, or any other situation that may have an adverse effect on the store.
