About The Position

Woodlands Market is seeking Produce Clerks who are customer service superstars. This role involves stocking and rotating merchandise while providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include greeting customers, offering product samples with detailed information, assisting customers in locating products, and ensuring optimal product freshness and abundance through proper rotation and stocking.

Requirements

Effective customer service skills (service orientation)
In-depth knowledge of Produce
Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple, concurrent tasks
Excellent verbal and customer service skills
Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area
Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates
Ability to stand for long periods
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to perform repeated lifting, bending, and twisting

Responsibilities

Proper stocking and rotation of merchandise
Providing exceptional customer service
Warmly welcoming and greeting all customers
Sampling products and providing relevant product information (recipe ideas, origin, seasonality, ripeness)
Helping customers locate products within the produce section and the rest of the store
Picking fruit at the optimal level of ripeness based on customer consumption timing
Rotating stock to maximize product freshness/quality and minimize waste
Stocking to ensure abundance in all areas
Maintaining a clean, inviting, and safe department
