About The Position
Clerks make sure customers have a great experience by keeping products available, greeting customers and offering timely, friendly, and caring service. Clerks also make sure the department is clean, well-stocked, and looks good. They ensure our products and practices follow all safety rules. Additionally, they help out in other parts of the store.
Requirements
- Able to meet customer needs by providing excellent, welcoming, and timely service
- Able to be flexible to support the changing needs of our team and store
- Able to effectively communicate with customers and team members; uses active listening, patience, and clear communication to ensure a respectful and professional experience
- Able to take responsibility for creating great customer and team experiences
- Able to show up each day in a timely manner ready to work; shows strong follow-through
- Able to contribute to a welcoming environment for customers and team members; respects people from a variety of backgrounds and abilities
- Basic math skills; ability to timely and correctly perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Frequent stationary tasks, along with regular movement within the produce and storage areas
- Occasional positioning is required to access both low and high shelving, equipment, and products
- Frequent movement of containers weighing up to 60 lbs
- Constantly sort, prepare, and handle produce items
- May occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to reach high shelving
- Utilize various equipment including but not limited to knives, pallet jack, baler, and shrink wrapper
- Exchange accurate information in person and over the phone
- Frequently work in a walk-in cooler
- Exposed to sanitizer, cleaning products, natural molds, and loud noises
