The Produce Clerk is responsible for providing service that exceeds the expectations of customers. This role involves stocking shelves in the produce department, preparing fruit for stocking by washing, cutting, peeling, and wrapping, and stamping or tagging merchandise with prices. The clerk must possess knowledge of various types of produce, including their origins, growth methods, preparation, and shelf life. Additionally, the ability to understand and use scales is required. Building business through excellent customer service and fostering repeat business is a key aspect of the role. Produce Clerks must adhere to a '15 Second Service' policy, acknowledging or greeting customers within 15 seconds of their arrival, whether at a counter or on the sales floor. The 'Seven Points to Extraordinary Service' must also be fully executed at all times.
