About The Position

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a Part-Time Produce Clerk to join their world-class team. This role involves maintaining the produce department by sorting, displaying, and replenishing fresh fruits and vegetables. The Produce Clerk will provide excellent customer service, ensure product quality, and contribute to a safe and positive environment for members and fellow team members. This position is approximately 30 hours per week.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Work experience in a produce department preferred.
• Knowledge of fruit and vegetables preferred, including seasonal items.
• Carry out job functions and responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department.
• Maintains the overall environment of the department by providing assistance to Members through product knowledge and customer service.
• Ensures that all produce meets or exceeds company quality standards.
• Inspects, rotates, and stores produce upon delivery, ensuring it meets or exceeds company standards.
• Rotates produce on the sales floor for optimal freshness and variety, ensuring cases and display areas are fully stocked.
• Keeps produce displays neat and clean, removing unsuitable products.
• Maintains the produce reserve stock area, dating and rotating back stock items, and organizing the storage area daily.
• Follows established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, and/or expired products.
• Assists Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Cleans and sanitizes all produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generates signage for produce goods and performs price check functions when necessary, ensuring accurate pricing and signing.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Delivers service excellence through all points of contact.
• Resolves and deescalates to address every member concern.
• Ensures a safe and positive environment and experience for members.
• Greets, anticipates, and appreciates members (GAA).
• Works as a team to deliver GOLD club standards daily.
• Works with commitment and pride to deliver a Grand opening look daily.
• Ensures all items are stocked and promotional plans are executed.
• Maintains visible accurate signage.
• Maintains a clean and organized environment, inside and out.
• Understands how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for the department.
• Sees the connection between consistent execution and its positive impact on the business.
