Requirements

Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable handling food and using knives as part of daily duties
Possess strong communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
Able to stand and walk for extended periods
Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs., as well as repetitive motions as part of daily responsibilities
Strong commitment to customer service and service excellence
Friendly, positive attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to meet the physical and scheduling requirements of the role
Effective verbal and written English communication skills

Responsibilities

Preparing value-added products such as washing, cutting, and packaging fresh produce items (for example, fruit and vegetable trays)
Maintaining product quality, freshness, and proper rotation
Ensuring a clean and organized workspace in compliance with food safety standards
Receiving and stocking fresh fruits and vegetables
Assisting with product displays and merchandising throughout the produce department
Consistently represent and uphold the Co‑op brand by demonstrating Gardenland Co‑op’s vision, mission, and values in all interactions
Act as a Co‑op ambassador with a strong understanding of the Cooperative Retailing System and the cooperative business model, striving to build and maintain positive, healthy relationships with both co‑workers and customers
Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service and creating positive interactions
Communicates clearly and respectfully with both customers and coworkers
Works well within a team environment and contributes to a supportive, collaborative workplace
Committed to service excellence and quality food preparation
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work area in compliance with food safety standards
Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries
