About The Position
The Produce Clerk is responsible for providing World Famous Friendly Customer Service to customers, team members, and outside vendors. This role involves merchandising, filling, stocking, breaking down and storing loads, culling product, rotating product, and preparation of product such as trimming and crisping.
Requirements
- World famous friendly attitude with customers & team members.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to identify all produce items.
- Ability to read case labels.
Responsibilities
- Store, rotate, and break down loads to proper areas (cooler or backroom).
- Transport product to sales floor for filling.
- Cull off quality or out-of-code product and rotate new product onto display.
- Trim and crisp lettuce, celery, and other wet, perishable product.
- Observe policies and procedures established for the department.
- Continue education of product identification, uses, and handling.
- Keep work area clean and follow cleaning schedule.
- Follow company dress code.
- Follow safe handling practices for knives and cutters.
- Follow safe lifting practices.
- Follow productivity guidelines as set by the Produce Manager.
- Abide by all company policies as stated in the employee handbook.
