About The Position

Become a brand ambassador and share your passion for food with our customers! Our Produce team is fundamental to Metro’s overall success with a focus on always fresh, in stock, and up to standards. The Produce Clerk is responsible for the preparation of produce products for retail display and sale to customers in a safe and sanitary manner. They are also involved in servicing Metro’s customers in a courteous, friendly and efficient manner! If you are interested in assisting customers and are passionate about the food industry the produce department is waiting for you!

Requirements

• Customer service driven
• Able to stock merchandise and create displays
• Able to lift up to 50lbs
• Good product knowledge and attention to detail
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights and weekends

Nice To Haves

• Retail experience considered an asset

Responsibilities

Benefits

• The hourly wage for this position is starting at 16.60 which is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, education and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether it is the starting wage or higher, will be within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.
