About The Position

Maintains stock levels in the produce department by replenishing products as needed. Execute the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests. Produce Associates provide a high standard of care to quality, nutritious fruits and vegetables to ensure they are fresh & delicious for the families within our communities.

Requirements

Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment.
Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards.
Proper training and knowledge of slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, and baler.
Knowledge of the retail food business.
Thorough knowledge of perishable department operations.
Merchandising skills.
Ability to make timely and effective decisions.

Responsibilities

Provides customer service to guests, including assisting with finding items, taking orders, answering the telephone, and resolving guest concerns.
Stocks and maintains product levels by filling display items, rotating products using the first-in, first-out method, and ensuring displays meet standards.
Maintains a clean and tidy sales floor, free of messes or spills.
Maintains Produce supplies (e.g., roll bags, twist ties).
Takes temperatures of items regularly and fills out rotation sheets daily.
Records shrink daily.
Maintains the Produce Cooler by rotating items using the first-in, first-out method and keeping it clean and organized.
Responsible for ordering some product, such as dips, spices, and herbs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ensures regular, timely attendance and provides adequate notice for absences.
