About The Position

The Produce Associate is responsible for ensuring the quality and presentation of produce items, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role involves a variety of tasks related to product handling, display, inventory management, and customer service within the produce department.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
Ability to read at an eighth grade level.
6 months of experience in the produce area.
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Advise customers of the location of the different products.
Ensure display cases are properly lit.
Check and maintain the temperature of refrigerators.
Clean shelves and prepare for new product arrivals.
Clean and organize the warehouse.
Arrange and rotate fruits and vegetables in the store.
Assemble and disassemble displays of fruits and vegetables.
Check the daily quality of fruits and vegetables.
Reduce shrinkage by managing produce before it spoils.
Receive and place promotional posters for specials.
Receive fruits and vegetables from suppliers under the supervision of the store manager.
Return misplaced fruits and vegetables to their correct locations.
Properly handle all equipment to extend product shelf life.
Collect and dispose of garbage, including from the kitchen, in the designated outdoor container.
Clean the store in general, including restrooms.
Sweep and mop the store.
Keep the work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards.
Report faulty equipment and hazards to management.
Perform any other task assigned by the store manager.
