This role supports the unit in achieving production targets by following established systems and processes. The work is performed onsite on the shop floor and involves using machinery and equipment, reading and interpreting technical diagrams and work instructions, and assembling products, systems, or panels. The position focuses primarily on the Assembly finishing area, including adding nameplates and labels to finished products. Work may be performed manually or with light hand tools and may include packing when integrated with production lines. The operator carries out quality testing within defined processes, follows standard operating procedures, and maintains a clean work area. The position includes rotating to other jobs within the facility and may require operating multiple machines and working overtime. The operator checks work for accuracy and defects using gauges, follows work instructions and customer specifications, observes machine operation, checks for malfunctions, and notifies supervisors when repairs are needed. Computers are used to enter completed work, read instructions, and report work orders. Safety rules and PPE protocols must always be followed. Regular and predictable attendance is required. ABB manufactures industrial electric motors and describes this as an opportunity to work in a clean and safe environment on a team, with opportunities to learn and advance.
