About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Procurement Support Specialist 2 for the Las Vegas, NV area. This mid-level position works with government representatives, technicians, and supervisors in all phases of purchase requisition creation and administration. The role is responsible for ensuring purchase requisitions follow government policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of government purchasing, the ability to work independently with some supervision, be solution-oriented, contribute to team goals, demonstrate good judgment, and collaborate with stakeholders and other departments. This position is supervised by the site Production Control Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • At least two years of experience in subcontracts, procurement, supply chain, or related field.
  • Proficient in basic office software applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and processes purchase requisitions.
  • Provides information to requesters regarding procurement actions or status and assists with special requirements.
  • Adheres to Supply Chain Procurement procedures to ensure certain acquisition purchase requisitions are routed through Main Base Supply.
  • Assists in the preparation of procurement-centered reports.
  • Contacts suppliers, secures bids, and prepares administrative forms and documents.
  • Works with vendors to ensure prompt delivery of products for stock and to satisfy immediate customer demands.
  • Ensures compliance with FAR/DFARS and Agency-specific regulations.
  • Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries.
  • Supports the goals and objectives of the company as a part of a work group or team member.
  • Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, and cancellations.
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Provides input to overall procurement strategy and supports the development of new capable suppliers.
  • Monitors performance to procurement goals and objectives and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Assists warehouse personnel with processing re-supply purchase requisitions.
  • Performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Completes all training requirements and fulfills all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.
  • Conforms to the Amentum Quality Policy and carries out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
  • Reads and understands his/her Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.
  • Reads, understands, and implements the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to his/her job.
