This position provides parts and supplies for the equipping and maintenance of police vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities include the procurement, receiving, storage, issuance, and accounting of all types of equipment parts and supplies. This position supports the Equipment Technicians, and Law Enforcement Equipment Technicians in parts procurement for the repair and equipping of police fleet vehicles and equipment. Every division and district in the agency relies on the Fleet Section for safe, reliable vehicles in order to carry out their public safety services. This position helps ensure parts and supplies are available so that those vehicles are ready for agency personnel. This supports goal number five of the Washington State Patrol Strategic Plan to provide strong leadership and resources to foster a safe, ethical, innovative, knowledgeable, and diverse workforce. Improve the condition and sustainability of agency facilities, vehicles, and equipment while being good stewards of public funds. Renew and evaluate internal processes and work products to manage risk and ensure legal compliance, accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency. Promote and facilitate continuous improvement using proven methods of Lean. This position has lead worker responsibilities and assigns, instructs, and checks the work of the Procurement Specialist 1.
