About The Position

The Department of Economic Security is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Procurement Specialist with the Division of Financial Operations, Office of Procurement. This Procurement Specialist ensures appropriate sourcing methods for the acquisition of products and services, including market research, analyzing, and interpreting contracts, preparing, and issuing timely solicitations for commodities and services. This position will also be responsible for the contract administration of Department-wide contracts and, in so doing, reviews of direct contracts, processes contract amendments, including extensions, rate adjustments, and contract assignments. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department’s business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.   • Arizona procurement code, public contract, and the acquisition process.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, procurement, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification, such as CPPO, CPPB, or CPM from a professional procurement organization.
  • Two years of experience equivalent to or above the Procurement Technician level in such fields as budget analysis, procurement, purchasing, accounting, or related services.

Responsibilities

  • Creates procurement documents in the Arizona Procurement Portal and ensures compliance with the Arizona Procurement Code.
  • Conducts complex procurements to include coordination, preparation, issuance, evaluation, and award of solicitations.
  • Provides technical and informational support to Department customers.
  • Analyzes and performs market research to compare products and services, and makes purchase recommendations.
