About The Position
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing strategic and tactical procurement activities for the Power & Controls business. This role ensures continuity of supply, drives cost competitiveness, manages supplier relationships, and supports operational and program objectives. The Buyer will collaborate cross functionally to execute sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry requirements.
Requirements
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- 5+ years of experience in direct procurement, supply chain, or sourcing.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Ability to analyze data, interpret requirements, and make sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
- Negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with Power & Controls commodities (electronics, electromechanical components, machining, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional initiatives.
- Knowledge of cost modeling and strategic sourcing methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Manage end to end procurement activities for assigned commodities, including RFQs, supplier selection, negotiation, PO placement, and delivery management.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, on time performance, and cost efficiency.
- Execute sourcing strategies aligned with program, engineering, operations, and supply chain needs.
- Monitor and address supplier risks, delivery issues, capacity concerns, and long lead material challenges.
- Support contractual negotiations and ensure compliance with terms, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Review and analyze demand forecasts, inventory plans, and material requirements to maintain uninterrupted flow of goods.
- Resolve invoice, pricing, and PO discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and internal partners.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and reporting metrics.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools.
- Travel 25% -50% to suppliers.
