About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support the Space Force Range contract (SFRC). The Procurement Specialist will manage the acquisition of materials, supplies, and services essential for Space Force Range operations. This role requires expertise in Federal Acquisition Regulations, vendor management, and cost control to ensure timely and compliant procurement processes that support mission-critical activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of purchasing experience, including government contracts and FAR compliance.
• Expertise in supply chain management, logistics, and vendor negotiations.
• Experience in MS Office, MAXIMO, Cost Point, and PeopleSoft systems.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
• Valid U.S. Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Execute purchasing activities for materials, supplies, and services in compliance with FAR and organizational policies.
• Solicit, evaluate, and award purchase orders, including competitive bids for requirements.
• Validate incoming purchase requisitions and prepare purchase orders with accurate delivery timelines.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and resolve discrepancies related to damage, returns, or cancellations.
• Issue and maintain Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) and ensure procurement record retention.
• Coordinate badging and security requirements for vendors accessing Space Force bases.
• Expedite deliveries and monitor vendor performance to maintain quality standards.
• Process invoices and collaborate with Accounts Payable for timely payment approvals.
• Support budgeting activities, including fiscal year allocations and expenditure tracking using advanced Excel and ERP systems.
• Develop and maintain procurement tools to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
