About The Position

The Purchasing Specialist will procure and expedite services and products. He/she will assist in the selection of new vendors. Works closely with other departments to understand requirements and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.

Requirements

Detailed oriented with a team player mentality
Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills to include confidential information
Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office) with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English
Minimum 2 years purchasing experience.
Purchasing experience in the mining industry or other industrial environments
All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol test, and background check.
All positions require a pre-placement physical examination to ensure candidates are 'fit for duty'.
Additional training and/or testing may be required.
Capstone maintains a drug and alcohol-free workplace.

Nice To Haves

Quadram or Ariba experience a plus.
SAP Experience a plus
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business Administration preferred.
Certifications or education specific to Purchasing

Responsibilities

Manage and ensure all employees are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures.
Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures.
Ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned.
Ensure timely and accurate execution of all purchasing activities using defined standards.
Collate and analyze report data to help track targets and team performance.
Oversee quality assessment – handle issues from vendors and internal clients, intercompany transactions, payment status and billing.
Manage end to end supplier activities.
Provide day to day direction to the team to ensure delivery against plan.
Guide and coach team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required.
Responsible for Vendor Master Maintenance.
