About The Position

The Purchasing Specialist will procure and expedite services and products. He/she will assist in the selection of new vendors. Works closely with other departments to understand requirements and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Detailed oriented with a team player mentality
  • Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills to include confidential information
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office) with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English
  • Minimum 2 years purchasing experience.
  • Purchasing experience in the mining industry or other industrial environments
  • All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol test, and background check.
  • All positions require a pre-placement physical examination to ensure candidates are 'fit for duty'.
  • Additional training and/or testing may be required.
  • Capstone maintains a drug and alcohol-free workplace.

Nice To Haves

  • Quadram or Ariba experience a plus.
  • SAP Experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business Administration preferred.
  • Certifications or education specific to Purchasing

Responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure all employees are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned.
  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of all purchasing activities using defined standards.
  • Collate and analyze report data to help track targets and team performance.
  • Oversee quality assessment – handle issues from vendors and internal clients, intercompany transactions, payment status and billing.
  • Manage end to end supplier activities.
  • Provide day to day direction to the team to ensure delivery against plan.
  • Guide and coach team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required.
  • Responsible for Vendor Master Maintenance.
