About The Position

The SC Department of Veterans’ Affairs is seeking a hardworking and dependable candidate to apply for a Temporary Procurement Specialist position. This position will offer great benefits with the state, including 15 days of annual and sick leave per year or more depending on applicable state service. The Procurement Specialist conducts and enables routine procurement activities for the SC Department of Veterans' Affairs.

Requirements

• A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
• A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the work experience.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Position may require overnight travel.
• Position requires routine driver duties.

Responsibilities

• Performs entry-level or routine procurement duties.
• Reviews and examine documents to procure goods, services, and information technology by determining the best procurement method.
• Use solicitation process for the Department as required.
• Ensures all SC State procurement code requirements and Department policies and procedures are followed.
• Reviews purchase requisitions and apprise the requisitioner of items available through state contracts, other alternate potential suppliers, and Department contracts.
• Processes requisitions through all stages of the procurement.
• Provides assistance to Deputy Director of Procurement with market research, drafting documents, formatting documents, proofing documents, tracking procurements, and special projects assigned.
