About The Position

The Procurement Specialist will manage global material shortages and support purchasing activities for assigned programs within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role serves as the primary purchasing interface to global plants, ensuring alignment between production needs and supplier capabilities while contributing to safer, cleaner, and more intelligent mobility solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or an equivalent field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Purchasing, Operations, or a related field within a manufacturing facility.
  • Hands-on experience with supply chain management, procurement, material planning, and inventory management.
  • Strong skills in logistics coordination, purchase order management, and inventory control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including the ability to create and use Excel pivot tables for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems for supply chain and purchasing activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and prepare clear, accurate reports to support decision-making.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced global environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate within cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to represent technical and supply chain topics internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage diverse assignments concurrently.
  • High level of discretion with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Self-starter mindset with strong and effective decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant experience within the automotive electronics industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with Tier 1 automotive suppliers is an advantage.
  • Strong teamwork and people skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across global sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and build the technical capabilities of a cross-functional organization.
  • Interest in and ability to support analysis of new market and technology trends impacting the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve critical supply escalations for global manufacturing sites to minimize production disruptions.
  • Escalate material shortages within supplier leadership teams to ensure timely and appropriate delivery responses.
  • Update, analyze, and distribute global runout sheets by quantifying and manipulating data so that it aligns with overall production plans and supplier requirements.
  • Provide flexibility to work outside normal business hours when needed to support other regions with urgent supply issues and escalations.
  • Support escalation requests for on-time sample builds to meet program launch schedules and requirements.
  • Participate actively in purchasing and operations meetings, providing supply chain insights and updates.
  • Provide regular part shortage status updates to internal stakeholders and plants.
  • Support analysis of new trends in the market and technology that may impact supply chain performance or sourcing strategies.
  • Maintain productive, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers to support long-term collaboration and reliability.
  • Serve as a key purchasing interface to all global plants for assigned programs, ensuring clear communication and alignment on material needs and delivery performance.
