About The Position

Janicki Industries is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join their growing team. This on-site position in Hamilton, Washington State, is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the company. The role involves meeting cost, quality, and delivery goals while providing excellent customer service. The Procurement Specialist will collaborate closely with Materials, Operations, Engineering, and Quality departments to ensure suppliers meet Janicki Industries' objectives. Key responsibilities include managing inventory levels, evaluating supplier capabilities, aligning capacity with demand, assessing technical capabilities, participating in make-vs-buy analyses, communicating forecasts to suppliers, generating purchase orders, and coordinating payments within the ERP system. The role also involves managing bid packages, ensuring compliance with AS9100 quality requirements, and maintaining effective supplier relationships.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status due to ITAR and EAR regulations.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
  • Must agree to enter a Continuous Evaluation program for Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements.
  • Relevant 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience purchasing materials, supplies, equipment and/or services on a supply chain team.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations/management.
  • Experience in an ISO or AS quality management system.
  • Experience working in an ERP/PDM environment.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a government issued security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • CPIM or CSCP certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase materials, supplies, equipment, and services used by Janicki Industries.
  • Meet cost, quality, and delivery goals and provide the highest levels of customer service.
  • Coordinate closely with Materials, Operations, Engineering, and Quality functions to ensure Suppliers meet or exceed Janicki Industries Quality and Delivery Objectives.
  • Interface with materials and operations teams to manage and plan inventory levels.
  • Evaluate supplier production capacity, equipment capability, workforce availability, and scalability.
  • Align supplier capacity with forecasted demand and fabrication schedules.
  • Conduct regular capacity reviews with key suppliers to identify constraints and growth limitations.
  • Assess supplier technical capabilities relative to fabrication requirements (e.g., machining tolerances, welding certifications, composite layup processes, etc.).
  • Participate in make-vs-buy analysis with consideration of supplier capacity and internal workload.
  • Communicate rolling forecasts and long-range capacity needs to strategic suppliers.
  • Generate purchase orders, maintain data, and coordinate payment in ERP system.
  • Provide outstanding levels of customer service.
  • Interface with the Quality team to manage supplier quality issues.
  • Support negotiations for best prices and terms for materials and services.
  • Ensure processes comply with AS9100 quality requirements.
  • Ensure contract terms are adhered to and deliverables met.
  • Interface with internal customers on supplier issues.
  • Maintain effective relationships with strategic suppliers and monitor performance.
  • Manage significant bid packages from inception to contract award to maximize total value.
  • Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
  • Be at work on time and maintain good attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
