Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company is hiring for a Procurement Specialist at our facility in Schiller Park, IL. In this role you will prepare and conclude sourcing contracts based on customer requirements with the most beneficial conditions whilst ensuring quality and on-time delivery. The focus is on business-specific procurement. This position is designed to be onsite in Schiller Park, Illinois with some remote/hybrid flexibility

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Degree and 1-5 years of related experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Buyer/Planner (Logistics/Supply Chain is a plus)
  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HCM (e.g, Workday)
  • Experienced with SAP

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers.
  • Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity.
  • Participate in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information.
  • Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities (e.g. materials, components, equipment and services).
  • Monitor the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value.
  • Develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive.
  • May recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis or alternative sourcing.
  • Interact closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues.
  • Work with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability.
  • Require domestic or global expertise of assigned commodities.
