About The Position

We are seeking a Contract management/Procurement Specialist to support a leading energy organization in Western Canada with procurement related services within our Power and Renewables portfolio. This position follows a hybrid working model and may require travel to project sites, supplier locations, and client offices as required. This role will be based in Vancouver, BC. Your role As a Contract management/Procurement Specialist, you will contribute to the successful delivery of construction and infrastructure programs for a BC Crown corporation by managing procurement processes and contract administration from planning through close‑out.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Contract Administration (or a closely related field).
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in procurement, contract administration, supply chain, or commercial management preferably within engineering, construction, or EPC/EPCM environments.
  • Hands-on experience preparing and issuing procurement documentation (e.g., RFPs/RFQs, bid packages and evaluation).
  • Demonstrated relationship management, negotiation, and conflict-resolution capabilities with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard procurement procedures, sourcing strategies, and contract management practices.
  • Experience coordinating procurement activities with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., engineering, project management, contracts, finance).

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and issue supply, and supply‑and‑install contracts in accordance with procurement policies, applicable public‑sector procurement legislation, trade agreements (e.g., CFTA, NWPTA), and established delegated approval authorities.
  • Administer all commercial and contractual aspects of contracts and subcontracts, including progress payments, change orders, claims management, dispute resolution, formal contract amendments, and contract closeout, in alignment with internal governance and audit requirements.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and auditable contract records while ensuring compliance with contractual terms, project budgets and schedules, internal controls, and corporate reporting standards.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, contracting plans, and RFx (RFP, RFQ, ITT) documents that support project delivery models and align with the client’s business, safety, and regulatory objectives.
  • Receive, evaluate, and analyze competitive submissions in a fair, transparent, and defensible manner; prepare commercial evaluations, supplier recommendations, and documentation to support contract award and senior‑level approvals.
  • Monitor contractor and supplier performance, promote compliance with contractual obligations, and support the development of collaborative, professional supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, finance, legal, and Indigenous relations teams to support safe, compliant, and effective project delivery.
