About The Position

As a buyer, your responsibilities may include development and implementation of a regional purchasing strategy in the assigned categories in alignment with the relevant specialist areas and contact partners. Regional responsibility for the costs of assigned category/categories. Planning and tracking of budgetary prerequisites. Analysis of the respective purchasing volume. Generation of procurement strategies and market intelligence. Identification, initiation, and promotion of potential savings and improvements (i.e. specification, make-or-buy, cost value analyses). Monitoring of project implementation and initiation of countermeasures if the project target is at risk. Risk management and task force/troubleshooting with regards to quality/delivery issues for all relevant suppliers assigned. Pricing, conditions, and contract negotiations as well as leading RFQs for relevant suppliers. Initiation and implementation of the supplier selection and supplier approval process, in accordance with the category-specific requirements. Active management of the supplier portfolio (ensuring the correct supplier assignment, classification, assessment, and development) & volatile supply-critical materials. Regular coordination with the relevant specialist departments and the regional/local key stakeholders to assure and increase customer satisfaction. Ensure suitable purchasing processes and tools are in place and followed. Participation in shaping the process landscape in Purchasing, as well as the initiation and support of continuous improvement measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent related field.
  • 2+ years of Purchasing (or other relevant) experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with purchasing and negotiations & working in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in engineering technologies (Automation, Assembly Integration, Machines & Test Equipment).
  • Capable of managing complex projects under pressure, while meeting due dates, & targets.
  • Willingness to travel 15% of the time.
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship.
