About The Position

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for ensuring purchase order information is accurate and updated, verifying necessary documentation for delivered goods, and investigating discrepancies. This role also involves maintaining the approved vendor list and managing ingredient/packaging registers, as well as coordinating vendor nonconformances and returns.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years office and purchasing administrative experience.
  • Computer skills - Office 365, Word, Excel.
  • Excel in problem solving while remaining courteous when faced with difficult situations.
  • Work independently and multitask within a fast-paced environment.
  • Organize, prioritize, and rectify progress shortfalls on major work activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of concepts in inventory control and purchasing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure purchase order information is confirmed, accurate, and updates are made as necessary.
  • Verify COAs and other needed documentation is provided upon delivery of goods.
  • Investigate discrepancies or damages while working closely with receiving, vendor, buyer, and accounting departments.
  • Maintain and update the approved vendor list in accordance with SQF standards, including vendor files with the latest certification, survey, internal performance review, and general information.
  • Manage the ingredient/packaging register alongside the vendor list.
  • Coordinate vendor nonconformance, rejects, and returns, serving as a liaison between Q/A and suppliers for timely resolution.
