About The Position

Deutsche Windtechnik (DWT) is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support the company's expansion in North America. This role is crucial for fostering company growth by managing the procurement process for wind energy projects. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services needed for the development, planning, and execution of wind farms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, related field, or equivalent years of experience (5 years) in Supply Chain specific to wind energy industry.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of wind energy technologies and supply chain dynamics.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel weekly or as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Steering the procurement process for wind energy projects.
  • Sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers.
  • Ensuring punctual and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and sustainability criteria.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Conducting in-depth market research and performing national and international value analyses.
  • Negotiating, drafting, and monitoring master service agreements, supplier agreements, and contracts.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineering teams, and internal departments to understand requirements and develop procurement strategies.
  • Ensuring procurement activities are aligned with project schedules, milestones, and strategic business objectives.
  • Driving sustainable procurement strategies.
  • Executing continuous improvements across quality, availability, and pricing by optimizing procurement processes.
  • Strategically developing and managing supplier portfolios.
  • Identifying and mitigating procurement risks.
  • Preparing, conducting, and leading price negotiations independently.
  • Optimizing and standardizing procurement workflows and tools.
  • Maintaining accurate procurement documentation.
  • Monitoring procurement costs and identifying savings opportunities.
  • Overseeing contract and supplier performance management.
