About The Position

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the procurement of materials and supplies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the acquisition of high-quality products at the best possible prices. This role involves coordinating outside purchases from quote through billing and maintaining effective communication with vendors to meet company requirements.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, or a related field, with a proven ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with vendors and internal teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret purchasing-related documents, including catalogs and technical manuals.
  • Strong organizational and math skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Purchasing & Vendor Relationships: Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities, including creating purchase orders and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. Ensure suppliers meet expectations for pricing, quality, and service.
  • Source & Negotiate with Suppliers: Identify and develop new supply sources as needed while negotiating pricing, terms, and agreements. Continuously look for cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Track Orders & Ensure Timely Delivery: Monitor order status and coordinate with vendors to ensure materials and components arrive on time. Communicate updates internally to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Coordinate with Internal Teams: Work closely with departments such as production, sales, and accounting to understand needs and resolve issues. Support business operations by ensuring materials are available when needed.
  • Maintain Accuracy & Resolve Issues: Keep accurate purchasing records, documentation, and inventory data. Assist with invoice discrepancies and ensure all transactions are completed correctly.
