About The Position

Pharmaron is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our Supply Chain team in Coventry, RI. This role is a great opportunity for an early-career professional looking to build a career in procurement, supply chain, or operations within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. In this role, you will support purchasing operations that are critical to ensuring materials, consumables, and supplies are available to keep production and research activities running efficiently. You will gain hands-on experience working with vendors, internal stakeholders, and procurement systems while contributing to operational excellence across the site.

Requirements

  • BS and 5-8 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or administrative operations OR Associate's degree with 8-10+ years of relevant experience OR High school diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, basic formulas, reporting); ERP experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., GMP, FDA) is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day purchasing operations to ensure timely and accurate procurement activities
  • Create and manage purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) for consumables, MRO materials, and lab supplies
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain order confirmations and proactively address discrepancies or delays
  • Prepare and issue requests for quotation (RFQs) and support supplier selection activities
  • Partner with Accounts Payable to review and reconcile invoices against purchase orders and receipts
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records to support compliance and audit readiness
  • Assist with internal programs such as uniform ordering and inventory-related coordination
  • Contribute to reporting, data tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives within Supply Chain
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and laboratory teams
