About The Position

ReNuke Services is seeking a Procurement Specialist (Nuclear) for our client's site in York, SC. This is a remote position, but candidates must be within 60 miles of Catawba Nuclear Station due to potential onsite requirements. The role involves acting as a materials and/or services buyer to support power plant operations. This is an intermediate level position within the Nuclear Supply Chain organization, requiring employees to solve complex problems with general direction and develop advanced skills for greater independence. The specialist will manage the procurement of products and services, ensuring alignment with Business Unit requirements and standards, and apply fundamental concepts to varied and complex tasks. Responsibilities include expediting purchase orders and contracts, resolving invoice mismatches, handling pricing and quantity issues, managing material transfers and logistics, and supporting exceptions on terms and conditions with legal input. The role also involves utilizing Power Advocate for bid events, promoting sustainable cost savings and inventory reduction, and providing guidance on procurement processes, sourcing options, and materials management strategies. Developing and improving supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with agreements, and acting as a liaison between suppliers and the Business Unit are key. The specialist will analyze and evaluate supplier performance, manage reports, support planned and forced outages, and attain qualifications to approve requisitions and issue purchase orders and contracts.

Requirements

  • Must understand competitive bidding and bid evaluations.
  • Experience with Maximo/Emax and/or PASSPORT/CAS recommended.
  • Bachelors degree + 2 years work experience OR Associates degree + 4 years work experience OR High School/GED degree + 6 years work experience
  • Demonstrates advanced planning skills, organizational skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, and analytics skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement of products and services that align with Business Unit requirements and standards.
  • Expediting (managing and maintaining purchase orders and/or contracts with vendors).
  • Resolution of invoice mismatches, pricing, quantity, inventory, material transfers, logistic issues.
  • Support resolution to exceptions on terms and conditions with appropriate input from legal and others.
  • Utilize Power Advocate for bid events with limited direction by Management.
  • Promotes advanced procurement and generation of sustainable cost savings and inventory reduction savings.
  • Provides advanced guidance to the business unit on procurement process, best sourcing options, materials management strategies including transfers, cost controls, and avoidance of procurement issues.
  • Develops and improves supplier relationships and ensures compliance with supplier agreements to help realize value added services benefits.
  • Acts as liaison between external suppliers and the Business Unit.
  • Understands supplier capabilities, establishes relationships with suppliers and negotiates cost savings and inventory reductions.
  • Provides customer service functions such as responding to customer inquiries and providing material status to support work schedules.
  • Ensures compliance with all related federal and state laws and regulations and Duke Energy business standards.
  • Demonstrates advanced capabilities associated with analyzing and evaluating supplier performance.
  • Manages daily, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Supports planned and forced outages.
  • Attains qualifications to approve purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders and contracts.
  • Track and expedite materials and parts for scheduled work and outages.
  • Support and perform other nuclear procurement functions as necessary.
