DPS is currently accepting applications for a Procurement Specialist II. THIS IS A REPOST. Previous applicants MUST REAPPLY to be considered. Procurement Specialist II performs purchasing responsibilities for a major group of services and commodities within a large State Agency. Primary assignment will be procurement agent for several specialty and/or technical items, especially in specification development and vendor identification, along with a wide variety of more standard commodities/services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of procurement experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Working knowledge of large-scale purchasing methods and procedures.
  • General knowledge of various to be services procured.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve authorized requisitions in Eprocurement.
  • Determine the appropriate acquisition procedure (order against existing State Term Contract(s), quote, bids, etc.) based on nature of requisition item(s) and dollar amounts as authorized by General Statue and Administrative Code.
  • Draft bid templates: Request for Quote (RFQ), Invitations for Bid (IFB), and Request for Proposal (RFP), Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
  • Coordinate execution of contractual agreements.
  • Maintaining records and preparing reports.
  • Ability to apply and interpret established rules and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Departmental personnel and manufacturer' representatives.
